After having scanned now 10,000+ old slides, I have a rather systematic view of all the cameras that I possessed over the years. What I did not realize so far was that the most expensive Leica M6 did not perform so much better than the Leica mini.
Even my current Panasonic FX01 reaches nearly the same level of details than a 4000 dpi scan of an Ilford FP4 (in Neofin) exposed with the M6.
After all, I decided to buy a new DSLR and ordered a Pentax K200 this week with the new kit II lens. The pictures, however, are disappointing when comparing then 780$ K200 with the 250$ FX01. Here is a 100% crop of the same scene.

Very disappointing. Or did I do something wrong? Although I liked the look and feel of the K200 and the fact that it operates on 4x AA , I sent it back immediately.
