To photograph is to hold one’s breath

I have long been thinking what attracts me so much to make photos (and have only rudimentary thoughts why doing research on lung disease). But finally I found a quote by Cartier-Bresson, the famous French photographer

“To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.”

Life starts with the first breath you take, and life ends with the last breath (or at least a few minutes after that). So, while this is all lyrics, I always recommend to exhale during shooting pictures as they will be sharper than shooting by holding the breath, yea, yea.
