Tyndall scattering
Being currently in London, I am combining the visit to an allergy congress (and work about a new review on evolutionary origins of immunoglobulin E) with some practical photographic experience at the river Thames.
I am reading currently about Tyndall scattering in his lectures on light as well as about his Matterhorn experience. It seems that I am not only sharing with him many years at Marburg University and an interest in science and religion but also his enthusiasm for mountaineering.
Fortunately most of John Tyndalls writings are online now – a really exceptional scientist!
an index of 19th century scientific research journals has John Tyndall as the author of more than 147 papers, with practically all of them dated between 1850 and 1884, which is an average of more than four papers a year over that 35-year period.
The pleasant nighttime lecture of Tyndall papers has only been topped yesterday by meeting unexpectedly Joe McNally at London bridge. He is one of my most favorite photographers. So million thanks for company who invited me for that trip, yea, yea.
