Travel light at less than 5000 g
It is so good to travel with only the third of the weight that we used in 80ies. Many of the pieces that I collected over time may not be available in the shops anymore but this is still may favorite gear list. Not really optimized for low weight but it works for me.

Allthogether the pack here weights just below 5000g, to be exact 4965 g. And here is the full gear list:
- Nemo Gogo, extra pegs and pump: 931 g (the new version here is heavier but more durable than the first one)
- Cumulus Xlite 200 ZIP sleeping bag: 436 g (perfect until approx 5 degree C)
- ThermARest Prolite mat: 616 g (weight could be improved)
- Black Diamond Distance walking sticks: 388 g (good)
- Platypus Platy Bottle 2L: 38 g (perfect)
- Berghaus Freeflow 32L backpack, hooks etc: 862 g (good)
- Cooking: Primus 220g butan gas+ Express, pot, lid: 615 g (may be different under different conditions – see the titanium Firebox Nano with 113 g)
- 2 bowls (S2S) fork, spoon (MSR), knife (Petzl): 222 g (perfect)
- Camera Fuji E2 + pancake + S2S bag: 491 g (perfect)
- Washing, cleaning, misc stuff: 366 g (good)
The only thing to add is a 2nd set of clothes, rain cover (a Golite Poncho Tarp), water and food where I am still at less than 7000g.
