The authors, however, have choosen a different title:<!--more--> &#8220;Low vitamin D status despite abundant sun exposure&#8221;.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/p1010575.JPG\" title=\"\" data-rel=\"key-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"p1010575.JPG\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/p1010575.JPG\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThey tested 93 individuals (skateboarders from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.downwithapb.com\/main\/\">A&#8217;ala Park Boardshop<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.honolulu.gov\/\">Honolulu, Hawaii<\/a>), all spending 22 hours\/week outside and having serum 25-OH-D3 values in the range of 20&#8211;60 ng\/ml w\/o any major PTH increase. I don&#8217;t see any reason to declare them therefore as deficient. The authors even admit in the discussion that this would be &#8220;counterintuitive&#8221;.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/ejcn\/journal\/vaop\/ncurrent\/abs\/1602825a.html\">Another study<\/a> published another unexpected finding &#8211; diurnal ! variation of 25-OH-D3. Found mainly in women (morning  49.6 ng\/ml, noon 36.5 ng\/ml, evening 12.9 ng\/ml).
