{"id":1106,"date":"2007-07-10T19:07:48","date_gmt":"2007-07-10T17:07:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/2007\/07\/10\/local-linux-box\/"},"modified":"2007-07-11T18:26:42","modified_gmt":"2007-07-11T16:26:42","slug":"my-linux-box","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/sciencesurf\/2007\/07\/my-linux-box\/","title":{"rendered":"My linux box"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When starting again analysis of pooled DNA samples &#8211; this time on the Affymetrix platform &#8211; I discovered not only the much improved &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.affymetrix.com\/index.affx\">Genotyping Console<\/a>&#8221; but also that my earlier <a href=\"http:\/\/genepool.tgen.org\/docs\/gpcommand.shtml\">Genepool<\/a> binaries do not work anymore under <a href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ubuntu\">VMWARE\/Ubuntu<\/a>. I therefore tried <!--more--> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knoppix.org\/\">QEMU\/KNOPPIX<\/a> which is slow but runs reliable.<br \/>\nUnfortunately Genepool ends with a partitioning error; I have already asked the authors if the new 500K chip design may be responsible for that error (as it does not split Nsp and Sty chips anymore).
