It seems so &#8211; the current study reports in 5 of 42 patients elevated IgE plus allergy symptoms. This is in line with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science?_ob=ArticleURL&amp;_udi=B6VSG-4BVYS50-7&amp;_user=100078&amp;_coverDate=03%2F31%2F2004&amp;_rdoc=1&amp;_fmt=&amp;_orig=search&amp;_sort=d&amp;view=c&amp;_acct=C000007458&amp;_version=1&amp;_urlVersion=0&amp;_userid=100078&amp;md5=4e205bc33c0b135dc5c292d555c63699\">earlier reports<\/a>. Sorry to say &#8212; you can get allergy also by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sites\/entrez?Db=pubmed&amp;Cmd=ShowDetailView&amp;TermToSearch=15280196&amp;ordinalpos=9&amp;itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum\">bone marrow<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sites\/entrez?Db=pubmed&amp;Cmd=ShowDetailView&amp;TermToSearch=9164366&amp;ordinalpos=21&amp;itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum\">transplantation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Addendum 10\/6\/08<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bloodjournal.hematologylibrary.org\/cgi\/reprint\/blood-2008-01-128686v1\">Blood<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A total of 16 nonallergic recipients with allergic donors were reported to develop allergic disease posttransplant, however, conclusive information was available for only 5 cases. Allergic disease was reported to abate in 3 allergic recipients with nonallergic donors, however, conclusive information was available for only 2 cases. Problems in interpreting the reports include incomplete data on allergic disease in the donor or recipient pretransplant, not knowing the denominator, and the lack of controls.
