We already know about preferential transmission of allergy by the allergic mother<!--more--> which was quite evident in our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sites\/entrez?Db=pubmed&amp;Cmd=ShowDetailView&amp;TermToSearch=1520004&amp;ordinalpos=14&amp;itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum\">1992 paper<\/a> but I thought this has been influenced by preferential reporting of interviewed mothers.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed there is a complex relationship as there are more healthy mothers in East <a href=\"http:\/\/content.karger.com\/produktedb\/produkte.asp?typ=fulltext&amp;file=000100574\">than in West Germany<\/a> that have an allergic child.<\/p>\n<p>If we believe another epidemiologist, you get your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sites\/entrez?Db=pubmed&amp;Cmd=ShowDetailView&amp;TermToSearch=15180767&amp;ordinalpos=2&amp;itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum\">hayfever from your partner<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sites\/entrez?Db=pubmed&amp;Cmd=ShowDetailView&amp;TermToSearch=17073868&amp;ordinalpos=2&amp;itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum\">eczema after divorce<\/a> (which doesn\u00b4t make so much sense at all&#8230;, it&#8217;s probably reporting bias as it is not found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sites\/entrez?Db=pubmed&amp;Cmd=ShowDetailView&amp;TermToSearch=17845412&amp;ordinalpos=1&amp;itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum\">in other studies<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>New research in mice now shows that preconception immunization in mice prevents neonatal sensitization &#8211; not such a surprise if we think of transplacental\/breastmilk transmission of allergen and IgG.<\/p>\n<p>A trait running in families has not always a genetic cause&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>Addendum<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sites\/entrez?Db=pubmed&amp;Cmd=ShowDetailView&amp;TermToSearch=17450140&amp;ordinalpos=1&amp;itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum\"><br \/>\nmore modifiers of epigenetic reprogramming<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"bottom-note\">\n  <span class=\"mod1\">CC-BY-NC Science Surf , accessed 08.04.2026<\/span>\n <\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This note should probably start with a smile ;-) as you may already know about my interest in parthogenesis, microchimerism, siRNA transmission and other epigenetic wonders.
