Der Duden sagt umgangssprachlich, scherzhaft, Verstandeskraft.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/de\/das-gehirnschmalz\/a-18389288\">Der DW meint<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>Schmalz<\/i> ist eigentlich das geschmolzene Fett von Tieren \u2013 vor allem von Schweinen oder G\u00e4nsen. Manche Menschen schmieren es sich aufs Brot oder nutzen es zum Braten. Wer von Gehirnschmalz spricht, meint nicht etwa, dass jemand nur Fett im Kopf hat.
