Then came Covid, which was a real threat to their lives. Thousands died in the first few months, and the country really failed to protect them in terms of P.P.E. You may remember the iconic image of nurses wearing garbage bags as a stand-in for a proper surgical gown.<br \/>\nThen there were the political battles over science, masking and vaccines \u2014 fanned by the right \u2014 followed by hostility from patients, and the families of patients, who they\u2019re trying to help. Then you have wave upon wave of Covid patients. These surges have been physically and emotionally exhausting, and they have pushed many hospital nurses to take less stressful jobs at schools, insurance companies or at doctor\u2019s offices. Others have left the field for good.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bibliomed-pflege.de\/news\/jede-sechste-pflegefachperson-denkt-ans-aufhoeren\">Nichts anderes<\/a> geht im Augenblick in Deutschland vor<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Die HAW hat 1.000 Pflegende in der Zeit von 31. Oktober 2020 bis 5. Januar 2021 gefragt, was sie in der aktuellen Phase der Pandemie besonders belastet &#8230; Auf die Frage, was Pflegende am meisten belastet, antworten viele, dass sie &#8220;Angst vor einer Infektion&#8221; haben. 70 % der Befragten geben an, dass sie in einem Konflikt, in einem emotionalen Dilemma sind zwischen ihrer beruflichen Aufgabe und der Angst, sich selbst anzustecken. Pflegende haben keine Motivation mehr f\u00fcr ihren Job. Die Pflegenden sind sehr ver\u00e4rgert, dass ihre Hilferufe weder vor noch w\u00e4hrend der Pandemie oder zwischen den 2 Wellen geh\u00f6rt wurden. Zudem, so sagen sie, h\u00e4tten viele Kolleginnen und Kollegen gek\u00fcndigt, &#8220;weil sie die Situation nicht mehr ertragen&#8221;. Das spiegelt sich auch in den Zahlen wider: 17 % der Befragten haben keine Motivation mehr f\u00fcr ihren Job.
