Forget it!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamanetworkopen\/fullarticle\/2792858\">Bergeat 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Data were available for 2 of 65 RCTs (<strong>3.1%<\/strong>) published before the ICMJE policy and for 2 of 65 RCTs (3.1%) published after the policy was issued (odds ratio, 1.00; 95% CI, 0.07-14.19;\u00a0<i>P<\/i>\u2009&gt;\u2009.99).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamanetworkopen\/fullarticle\/2775667\">Danchev 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Among the 89 articles declaring that IPD would be stored in repositories, only 17 (<strong>19.1%<\/strong>) deposited data, mostly because of embargo and regulatory approval.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S089543562200141X\">Gabelica 2022<\/a> (visualization @ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-022-01692-1\">Nature<\/a>)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Of 3556 analyzed articles, 3416 contained DAS. The most frequent DAS category (42%) indicated that the datasets are available on reasonable request. Among 1792 manuscripts in which DAS indicated that authors are willing to share their data, 1670 (93%) authors either did not respond or declined to share their data with us. Among 254 (14%) of 1792 authors who responded to our query for data sharing, only 122 (<strong>6.8%<\/strong>) provided the requested data.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The same issue applies also to <a href=\"https:\/\/theplosblog.plos.org\/2021\/07\/methods-as-scientific-asset\">software sharing\u00a0<\/a> where <a href=\"https:\/\/paperswithcode.com\/\">less than 5% of all papers<\/a> is depositing code. And whenever they deposit software, it is even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-022-01901-x?utm_source=Nature+Briefing&amp;utm_campaign=0c37fb994f-briefing-dy-20220714&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_c9dfd39373-0c37fb994f-45855130\">not running anymore<\/a> a few years later as operating systems and libraries changed.<\/p>\n<p>Both issues took me many years of my scientific life. It is recognized by politics in Germany but also the most recent action plan looks\u00a0 &#8230; ridiculous.
