The famous paper was published 1906 in the &#8220;M\u00fcnchner Medizinische Wochenschrift (MMW)&#8221; Volume 53, page 1457-1458.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/allergy1.png\" data-rel=\"key-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5377\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/allergy1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"386\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>AB Kay published a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackwell-synergy.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1111\/j.1365-2222.2006.02491.x\">nice essay<\/a> on &#8220;100 years of Allergy: can von Pirquet&#8217;s word be rescued?&#8221; that includes an English translation of the above paper. The MMW has a <a href=\"http:\/\/mmw.de\/jarticleDisplayAction.do;jsessionid=B163A7B549039521515FF94AB9BBA3DA?articleId=119316\">contemporary<\/a> obituary of Meinhard von Pfaundler (1872-1947) who was one of the earlier directors of the M\u00fcnchner Haunersche Kinderspital.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the &#8220;Wiener Klinische Wochenschrift&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.springerlink.com\/content\/q60x89044081711j\/\">has a CV<\/a> of Clemens von Pirquet, showing his way to Baltimore and Breslau back to Vienna until his tragic end by committing suicide together with his mentally ill wife.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image469\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/pirquet2.png\" alt=\"pirquet2.png\" \/><\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"bottom-note\">\n  <span class=\"mod1\">CC-BY-NC Science Surf , accessed 11.04.2026<\/span>\n <\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clemens von Pirquet (1874-1929) was the first to introduce &#8220;Allergie&#8221; into clinical medicine by characterizing an altered immune reaction of the body to foreign substances.
