The interview has been done by Skype as Singer says &#8220;it is  immoral to travel without serious reasons&#8221; &#8211; a classical Utilitarian perspective that does however not even stop him arguing<!--more--> for double standards (or an OK to kill  babies after they&#8217;re born). These are certainly dangerous ideas in particular as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jesp.org\/articles\/view.php?id=31\">moral principles are not moral laws<\/a>.\u00a0At the hotel I was alerted by another paper that cites <a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/j.1365-2796.2011.02351_1.x\/full\">our earlier work<\/a> and again Singer<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Nobel laureate, Iosif Brodsky said, \u2018the philosophy of the state, its ethics \u2013 are always yesterday\u2019. More dramatically, Peter Singer quipped, \u2018The science is barrelling forward, but the ethics aren\u2019t \u2026 I don\u2019t want the science to slow down. I want the ethics to catch up\u2019.
