There is not so much information out there, how this is working, that&#8217;s why I am describing here briefly my strategy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Bildschirmfoto-2011-11-03-um-07.32.49.png\" data-rel=\"key-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5793\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Bildschirmfoto-2011-11-03-um-07.32.49.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"257\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The master machine is sync&#8217;ed first<!--more--> creating a basic layer of data. All further machines then add their data to that pool.<\/p>\n<p><em>Address book<\/em> entries are being merged, no problem at all (except that iSync silently vanished in Lion).<\/p>\n<p><em>Mail<\/em> refers to a (new) me.com account, sync does not affect your existing imap\/pop accounts although you may later want to redirect all to that me.com account as only these mails are pushed to mobile devices.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ical<\/em> adds further calendar subscriptions but doesn&#8217;t change existing calendars. Nice. Same with <em>todos<\/em>. I removed, however, some private calendars:-Export on disk, delete in cal, import as local calendar.<\/p>\n<p><em>Files<\/em> refers only to pages\/keynotes\/numbers files &#8211; forget about that and stick with dropbox or Amazon S3 as I do. The idea of the Apple folks is certain good doing only sequential updates with specific programs but doesn&#8217;t work at the moment.<\/p>\n<p><em>Bookmarks<\/em> are now merged over iCloud which is again a great progress.<\/p>\n<p>As the <em>RSS feeds<\/em> do not sync over iCloud, I am relying here on Google+ for storage\/update and Gruml as a reader.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Bildschirmfoto-2011-11-21-um-15.08.48.png\" data-rel=\"key-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Bildschirmfoto-2011-11-21-um-15.08.48.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"245\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5833\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The downsize of all that nice features?
