{"id":721,"date":"2007-03-08T12:20:24","date_gmt":"2007-03-08T11:20:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/2007\/03\/01\/powerpoint-slides-in-wordpress\/"},"modified":"2007-03-31T19:20:49","modified_gmt":"2007-03-31T18:20:49","slug":"powerpoint-slides-in-wordpress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/sciencesurf\/2007\/03\/powerpoint-slides-in-wordpress\/","title":{"rendered":"Powerpoint slides in wordpress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have tested several programs for their usefulness of showing Powerpoint slides on the web- some packages create standalone pages only while others have major problems with figures, graphics or transitions (or are quite expensive).<\/p>\n<p>A rather simple method works at least in part &#8211; loading a .ppt file in <a href=\"http:\/\/de.openoffice.org\/\">Open Office Impress<\/a> and exporting it to .swf. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/2007\/02\/24\/test-ignore\/\">flv player<\/a>, however, creates a messy display as it doesn&#8217;t use the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jeroenwijering.com\/?thread=Open_Office_Impress_SWF_format\">full display area<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Another option is to export all pages as 800&#215;600 .jpg files and mount them in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flash-slideshow-maker.com\/\">File Show Maker<\/a> to a standalone flash film &#8211; as seen below in a talk that I have given in 2006:<\/p>\n<p><embed border=1 src=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/chiemsee360x300.swf\" quality=\"high\" width=\"360\" height=\"300\" name=\"tech\" allowScriptAccess=\"sameDomain\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" pluginspage=\"http:\/\/www.macromedia.com\/go\/getflashplayer\" \/><\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"bottom-note\">\n  <span class=\"mod1\">CC-BY-NC Science Surf , accessed 05.04.2026<\/span>\n <\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have tested several programs for their usefulness of showing Powerpoint slides on the web- some packages create standalone pages only while others have major problems with figures, graphics or transitions (or are quite expensive).
