All\u00a0lights are switched on after a talk and the race starts for the microphones.<br \/>\nThese are not always the best questions that are being asked <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">after<\/span> a talk. And as there is a time limit, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not all<\/span> questions will be\u00a0asked. And why are these\u00a0\u00a0only <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">oral<\/span> questions while the lecture was multimedia?<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the fact that asking a question is \u00a0a mini-presentation of people who are not suffering from low self esteem, I think we may indeed develop new tools\u00a0of communication.<\/p>\n<p>Here is my current experimental setup.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/sciencesurf\/2014\/12\/network-router-wireless-dhcp-nameserver\/\"> I open a local hotspot<\/a>\u00a0before the lecture where up to 250 mobile devices (phone, tablet, laptop) can connect. \u00a0Each of these clients in the audience gets a comment \/ upload screen when following instructions given on the first slide.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2.png\" data-rel=\"key-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7397\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2.png\" alt=\"2\" width=\"200\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2.png 400w, https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2-265x500.png 265w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All audience response is being written to\u00a0a database, while attached diagrams or screenshots are\u00a0being saved to\u00a0a cache directory.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0talk itself is not displayed from Powerpoint but from Chrome in presentation mode. Basically this is just one single presentation page built dynamically with one\u00a0 divs per\u00a0slide. \u00a0Next slide just means scrolling to the next div and\u00a0can be controlled from any tablet or phone.<\/p>\n<p>Periodically the presentation page is being appended with\u00a0further divs containing new\u00a0question slides from the audience.<\/p>\n<p>After the end of the talk, we can\u00a0go to the admin page, where we may\u00a0jump to single questions and display them just like the slides from my own talk.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/1.png\" data-rel=\"key-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7396\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/1.png\" alt=\"1\" width=\"203\" height=\"376\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But what is so much different now to the current practice?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Questions are asked <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Everybody can <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">see<\/span>\u00a0the questions &#8211; \u00a0no need for any microphone.<\/li>\n<li>There is\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">nothing is lost<\/span> as we can review the questions even weeks later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you interested in testing, I would be happy to share further details.
