{"id":9194,"date":"2017-11-28T13:00:21","date_gmt":"2017-11-28T12:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/?p=9194"},"modified":"2017-11-28T18:40:50","modified_gmt":"2017-11-28T17:40:50","slug":"treg-and-transplant-rejection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wjst.de\/blog\/sciencesurf\/2017\/11\/treg-and-transplant-rejection\/","title":{"rendered":"Treg and transplant rejection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday evening I heard an interesting talk here about lung transplant rejection where one of the best prognostic marker<br \/>\nwas the (pre transplantation) Treg count.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder if there are some\u00a0preexisting patient conditions, like allergy, that are responsible for this phenomenon?<br \/>\nAt least it is already known since 2008 that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC2443705\/\">Treg function is important.<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/journals.lww.com\/transplantjournal\/Citation\/2017\/05003\/Thymus_Derived_Treg_Infusion_to_Prevent_Graft.60.aspx\">Current Treg therapies<\/a>\u00a0are exploiting this. Another allergy hallmark the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC5233546\/\">IL33\/ST2 axis<\/a> is actively tested at the moment in transplant rejection.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3832858\/\">transplant acquired allergy<\/a>\u00a0is something different &#8211; a side effect of tacrolimus?
