As someone who is more influenced by deontological ethics, I find it funny that the authors describe utilitarian judgments as result of brain damage&#8230; The six patients they have been testing had markedly reduced social emotions (compassion, shame, guilt) as well as poorly regulated anger and frustration tolerance &#8211; while having a normal general intelligence and capacity for logical reasoning.
